The journalism workshop will cover the basic principles and practices of contemporary journalism. Trainees will explore the foundations of journalism, learn key skills involved in journalistic reporting and writing, and critically evaluate the role of journalism in the time being. Other skills that include the changes in the production, distribution, and consumption of news, journalism ethics, key legal decisions involving the practice of journalism will be discussed in detail so that the trainees would equip the capacity to analyze and critique news content. The workshop will also have the trainees read through works of prominent journalists from a variety of genres to gain insights into how they combined and reported news and information in a style and manner both engaging and informative.
